Happy Monday Scholars...
Due to some circumstances beyond my control, we will be working asynchronously today!
Remember since these are i-Ready assignments, they will do directly into your iO Classroom grade book, so please take this work seriously and complete it in a timely fashion.
For today, you will complete the following Teacher Assigned Lesson (that is connected to the CommonLit work we will start this week) and some My Path time:
- "Making Inferences about Literature"
- 20 minutes of My Path work
https://login.i-ready.com/
***As discussed in our one on one conference and in class, when you take an i-Ready Diagnostic the program puts you on a Learning Path and automatically assigns you work based on your Diagnostic score. As your teacher, I can also assign you lessons based on the standards we are working on in class. When you log in to your i-Ready accounts and select 'Reading' you should see that one side says 'Teacher Assigned' Lesson (with the lesson titles) and the other side says 'My Path'. I-Ready homework requires you to complete both the specific lesson I assigned to you for the evening and 20 minutes of 'My Path' work. Remember, teachers have full access allowing us to see how much time you have spent on the system, which lessons you did, and what you scored on each lesson.***

Let's level up or thinking and share out thoughts...
We have done a lot of reading and for our end of unit essay we will have synthesize what we have learned from each passage to form a claim. Letโs practice that skill now with a Virtual Discussion. This is a collaborative task in which you will all add your POV (see what I did there!) to the each question, in essence building a whole class discussion.
Directions:
-Open the Jamboard below
-Each slide has a question (your contribution can be your own answer or a response you have to a classmates answer)
-Answer based on your understanding of the passages you are being asked about
-Use your accountable talk prompts when agreeing or disagreeing with your classmates
