Red Ribbon Week takes place from Monday, October 27, 2025 to Friday, October 31, 2025. Show school spirit and pledge to be drug free by participating in our Red Ribbon Week events! See flyer for details.

Students are invited to join the 3rd Annual Haunted Halls event on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 from 4:30 PM-6:00 PM. Eligibility requirements include 100% attendance for October, ROYAL behavior following the CROWN matrix, and completion of assignments/passing grades. Permissions slips will be distributed.

5th Grade families are welcome to attend the MS 129 Open House to learn more about our school. Contact Ms. Bennett, Parent Coordinator, using our Staff Directory for more information.

School is closed on Monday, October 20, 2025 in observance of Diwali. Also known as Deepavali, this is the Hindu festival of lights, with variations celebrated in other Indian religions. It symbolizes the spiritual "victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance"

All 8th grade parents who are unable to attend the 8th grade parent meeting in person should join the 8th Grade VIRTUAL Parent Workshop on Saturday, October 11, 2025. There will be a session at 11:00 AM (English) and 1:00 PM (Spanish). Please register in advance for this meeting. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing the information to join the meeting. Contact Ms. Rosario if you have any questions.

On Thursday, October 9, 2025 at 8:30 AM, there will be a campus-wide parent workshop. Parents will learn more about the New York City Schools Account (NYCSA). You can see your child's grades, attendance, transportation information.

8th grade parents are invited to a meeting on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 to learn about the high school articulation process. Information will also be discussed about 8th grade "senior" activities, such as prom , trip, and graduation. Two sessions are offered: 9:30 AM or 3:30 PM. The beginning of the year (BOY) iReady Diagnostic Assessments will be administered on Thursday, September 25 (ELA) and Friday, September 26 (Math). Students will be taking these assessments in their classrooms on a device provided by the school. The results of these assessments will determine the current levels of the students so the teachers understand how to best support them in class.
